Nativetext: Easy translation for blogs and podcasts
2 Comments Published February 27th, 2006 in Papenoo
Nativetext is a free web service that translates RSS feeds from blogs and podcasts into foreign languages.
Using a new kind of distributed supercomputing, foreign language translation is performed by a network of millions of humans around the world, not machines. Translated content is served to a global readership through native language syndication.

Yes, you read it right, the service is free! I hope the beta will be available soon because I’m sure that we have here the service everyone wants to use since it fullfills the need of all blogs and podcasts…
I’ve already added my name to the notification list.
I’m leaving today and will join my family to spend Christmas with them in my hometown.
I wish to all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year with lots of prosperity and happiness.
See you in 2006…
Scott Johnson is co-founder of Feedster. He succefully built the now famous search engine but left the company last week in order to build a new startup called Ookles.
Ookles is still in stealth mode and lot of people are trying to guess what this next company will be.
My guess is that Ookles will have something to do with podcasting.
Why am I writing that? Because of the following hints which are on Scott Johnson’s blog:
- A new podcasting category has been created on his blog at the beginning of December.
- Scott visited Podshow’s offices last Thursday afternoon.
- Scott will be at the PodcasterCon 2006, a free one day conference open to all participants to discuss and learn about podcasting.
Maybe I’m wrong and it’ll only be a porn search engine…
Anyway, if you want to know when they’re ready to go you can enter your email address in the form on their homepage.

Disclaimer: I’m not member of this project and this post is only my personnal opinion, so don’t take it too seriously
Update: Scott Johnson just denied this rumor… sorry guys.
This is just a quick post for my french readers. Last week, during a conference, I met Tariq Krim, one of the founder of Netvibes. Tariq is also the founder of a large french webportal and blogging network called GenerationMp3.
We both discussed about our projects and agreed to start a new french blog under the GenerationMp3 label. I’m proud now to present this new blog called Oh My Pod! Congrats to Tariq for the name.
I’ll talk on this blog, in french, about what podcasting is, what my crushs are, I’ll also give some tips about software and hardware, and if everything is OK I’ll also try to host some interviews (I someone has some podcastings experience to share and wants to be interviewed, just drop me an email ^_^).
If you want to subscribe, here is the direct link to the feed.
PS: As some of you already figured it out, Papenoo will have something to do with podcasts… ![]()
The guys from Mad4milk released last week a demo of their main product mooflex. Mooflex is a content management system (CMS) which will help you to create a variety of websites, from simple blogs to more complicated, multi-author portals.

If you want to see how disturbing it must be for a speaker to be in a conference room where 50% of the people do look at their laptops instead of you, be sure to check Rodrigo’s post.
Rodrigo taped and uploaded a video of the audience while he was on stage.
From this point of view I understand better why a speaker can implode on stage… Don’t you?

This event, which has been organised at the last moment, did in fact have a great response. We were between 25 and 30 people in a nice bar in Paris that Francois found. The bar had free wifi (really good bandwith) and 2 projectors that we used for the presentations.
